When I was at retreat I learned so much. I learned to be in the present and even if you are exhausted as many of us are with breast cancer, you can still participate. Life is not a race. The weekend I came to the retreat was a gorgeous fall weekend. We walked to get meals that was a decent walk. I enjoyed the walk, but also became exhausted. I learned to enjoy at my own pace. It was so enjoyable with the changing leaves and the beautiful landscape around me.

I had always been concerned with healing the soul of my family. On retreat, I learned that healing my own soul is just as important if not more important.

I opened my heart to new people and new experiences that weekend. As we all do, when I arrived.....I looked for a comfort person and that comfort came from unlikely sources because I was able to invite others into my world. It was so peaceful and empowering.

Recently, I went camping. It was very rustic and way out of my comfort zone, but I was able to enjoy the experience and learned just how much I love taking long walks in the fall.

Pic is of me zip lining in Northern Michigan with my oldest daughter Madilyn.
