February Board Member: Jill Mack

How I became Involved with BCR: I work as a Private Banker for Wisconsin Bank and Trust. We have a pink ribbon debit card program that donates money from each debit card swipe to a breast cancer charity. Our charity of choice has been Breast Cancer Recovery. In addition to office space, we’ve donated over $100,000 In 2014, BCR was looking for board members and approached their donors. I’ve been fortunate to serve with a number of wonderful people.

Current Position:  Currently, I am a board member and enjoy supporting BCR in chairing the Development and Outreach Committee. Being part of the Party committee which organizes our largest fundraising event, Party on the Pier, has been fun. For a number of years, I was part of the leadership team which gave me a greater understanding of our programs—the Infinite Boundaries Retreats and Sharing the Knowledge lunch and learning sessions.

Interests, Hobbies, Activities I love watching sports, especially watching my son play hockey, but also cheering on the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers! Snuggling up with my dogs, reading a good book is a favorite pastime. In the warmer months, you can find my out digging around in my gardens.

Random Thoughts on BCR: Many breast cancer charities focus on research and new medical interventions. I appreciate that BCR focuses on the person and helping them recover emotionally. Discussing topics like the fear of recurrence, sexuality or even end of life issues really creates a bond that endures for their lifetime.
