Combining Fashion with Compassion
Dresses that Heal is a unique fundraiser that allows brides to honor breast cancer survivors. The program features designer gowns donated by some of the top names in the industry – Judd Waddell, Henry Roth, L’Ezu Atelier, Amy Michelson – which are auctioned off at bridal shows to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Recovery.
The Dresses that Heal fundraiser was conceived by Rachael Rivard, a bridal consultant in Madison, WI. She was inspired by a young bride who shared that she thought she might never have a chance to be married, as she had been diagnosed with breast cancer a year earlier.
“It became a powerful moment for all of us in that fitting room — her wedding gown became a symbol of survival and transformation,” Rivard said.
