Eight Infinite Boundaries retreats were held – three of those retreats were designed specifically for women with metastatic breast cancer. The 2011 retreat schedule will be finalized and posted after December 1.

The annual Party on the Lake held in June was a very successful fundraiser for BCR. Plans are underway for the 2011 event.

In November, the 11th annual Sharing the Knowledge was held in Madison, WI. 200 breast cancer survivors, caregivers, and health care professionals attended the day-long conference. Topics covered breast cancer news and updates, healing practices for breast cancer survivors, living well with advanced breast cancer, lifestyle factors and breast cancer survival, and nutrition for healthy living. Jonna Tamases performed “Jonna’s Body, Please Hold” a one-woman show that encompassed the story of Jonna’s real life bouts with cancer.

BCR has been truly blessed in 2010. Many wonderful donors — to numerous to list here — have offered support and encouragement throughout the year. We are looking forward to 2011 with excitement!

Sardine restaurant is hosting a post-ride LunaChix gathering after the LunaChix weekly ride. The ride leaves at 6 p.m. from Machinery Row Bicycles (right next to Sardine) and will return around 7 p.m. After the ride, Sardines will provide free appetizers to any riders or friends of Breast Cancer Recovery that want to join us.
It is not necessary to participate in the ride to join in the fun afterwards, but LunaChix always loves it when new riders, of all abilities, come out and ride with us. There will be a cash bar and LunaChix will offer raffle prizes and other giveaways. Proceeds will be shared between BCR and the Breast Cancer Fund.
